Product Description

This set includes two raw Lapis Lazuli pieces weighing 111.5 grams and 43.9 grams. The stones feature a beautiful sky blue colour with natural golden Pyrite inclusions that add a unique and attractive appearance. Completely natural and untreated, these pieces are ideal for collectors, crystal enthusiasts, or as meaningful September birthstones.

Is rough lapis treated?

No, this rough Lapis Lazuli is completely natural and untreated.

Are white spots (calcite) bad? How much pyrite is good?

White spots (calcite) are a natural part of Lapis Lazuli and are not necessarily bad. The most desirable pieces have a strong blue colour with balanced golden Pyrite flecks. A moderate, well-distributed amount of Pyrite is considered good because it enhances the beauty without overpowering the stone.

Is Afghan (Sar-e-Sang) lapis better than Chilean/Russian?

Lapis Lazuli from Afghanistan, Chile, and Russia is beautiful in its own way. However, Afghan (Sar-e-Sang) Lapis Lazuli is especially admired worldwide for its rich colour, better clarity, and the striking beauty of its golden Pyrite inclusions, which make it a favourite among collectors and enthusiasts.
