Most pieces carry enough clean material to yield faceted stones in the 1–10 carat range depending on cutting approach and inclusion avoidance.

Frequently Asked Questions

What carat yield can I expect from this peridot rough?

Yield depends on the cutting style and inclusion distribution within each piece. Most facet-grade pieces in this lot can produce finished stones in the 1–10 carat range, with SI-to-eye-clean zones offering the best recovery.

Is Pakistani peridot the same quality as Egyptian or Chinese peridot?

Pakistani peridot — primarily from the Kohistan and Kaghan regions — is recognized for its vivid, saturated green with minimal brownish tones. It is generally considered comparable to or better than Chinese material, and competes with Egyptian peridot in color saturation.

Can peridot rough be used for cabochons as well as faceted stones?

Peridot is typically faceted due to its transparency, but lower-clarity or fractured pieces from a rough lot can be shaped into cabochons or used for carving. This lot is graded for faceting, though individual pieces vary.
